If you plan on wading into rocky waters, you’ll want to make sure that your wading boots or shoes have solid traction. If that’s the case, look for boots that have a Vibram or felt sole. Otherwise, rubber sole wading boots will work just fine.

Should you wear socks in waders?
Wear full-length long socks preferably made of wool. During the winter, wearing thicker wool socks is much better than doubling up on thin socks. Try to avoid wearing a lot of cotton material under your waders. Cotton gets damp easily and takes forever to dry.
